SPRING CAPSULE WARDROBE – FREE VIDEO E-COURSE

THE SIMPLE LIFE NOTEBOOK SPRING CAPSULE WARDROBE - FREE VIDEO E-COURSE wardrobe project 333 capsule 10+10

I could wax lyrical all day about Capsule Wardrobes… but what exactly are they?  The Capsule Wardrobe is not a new thing.  Like most things from the 1970s it is fantastic (ahem…. 1979 baby talkin’ here).  The owner of a London boutique called Susie Faux came up with the concept.  She said a capsule wardrobe  should be a collection of a few essential items of clothing that don’t go out of fashion. They should be basics like skirts, trousers, and coats, which can then be augmented with seasonal pieces. Nice.

Since then this concept has grown massively and for very good reasons.  It is wonderful.. In short, I love it because :

  • it is so easy to get ready in the morning
  • it saves you money – not buying random items of clothing
  • it is a creative experience

If you’ve never done a capsule wardrobe before – now is the time to try. Try our free video e-course and kickstart your capsule wardrobe. Sign up below.

BUT BEFORE YOU DIVE IN HAVE A THINK ABOUT A FEW THINGS…….

WHAT YOU DO + WHERE YOU DO IT

  • Check your calendar for all those celebrity parties and exclusive weekend trips to the country! You social butterfly, you!  I’m joking of course, my life is filled with nights in front of the TV and visits to soft play, but before I had a capsule wardrobe I would spend most of my clothes money on one or two outfits for nights/days out and about 50p on the rest.  I have now learnt the error of my ways – and invested heavily in jeggings.!  I now know that 80% of the time my style is easy, casual and comfortable and 20% smart casual. This really helps you to plan and to get the most of your wardrobe.
  • I live in the UK.  This is not the most predictable of climates.  It could be wet, windy, dry, sunny (often overcast) or all of these in the same day.

COLOUR + STYLE

Working out what colours work and what style you rock is really great fun but can also be a overwhelming to start with.  Try Stylebook if you like apps.  its will help you define your style and also has a fab shuffle mode so you can switch up your outfits.  Pinterest is also a brilliant way of collating your dream purchases into a board and you’ll start to see your style emerge.  This is a fab blog post if you need help having a go at this.

Colour can be a real stumbling block to this whole capsule wardrobe process and it’s really easy to fall into the trap of having none.  In my home I love colour so why not in my wardrobe,  Geneva at Pair + A Spare has written this awesome post on colour complete with You Tube Video – you are so gonna be well style once you popped over and check her out.
